Spain is renowned for its beautiful golf courses and the Costa Blanca in particular has a large number of extremely high quality courses. The only problem that you may have is choosing which courses to play. To help you, we have given you a little summary of some of the courses in the area, starting with the Campo de Golf Villamartin, where our apartments are.

The course is not too long, and is well adapted to the natural surroundings and terrain. It is a varied course, although the fact that it is located in the lowest part of a valley means it is not very undulating.

There is Mediterranean vegetation in abundance as well as thick woods, although they rarely come into play.

The greens are not too small and each hole is completely different. The difficulty of this course lies in having to avoid a natural precipice and several water hazards on some holes.

The Real Club de Golf Campoamor, built on a former country estate and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside, was designed to take advantage of the unusual terrain of the area.

Its 18 holes run through two connected valleys surrounded by low, gently undulating ridges which protect it from the wind and create a special microclimate which allows people to play golf all the year round.

The course is situated about 100 metres above sea level, and is bordered to the south by the Tagus-Segura canal.

In addition to this attractive and original layout, with marvellous views over the intense blue of the Mediterranean, the special features of the course create difficult rounds for experienced players and simpler ones for those new to the sport.

This 18-holer is on mountainous ground which makes the course very interesting for players who like to take a few risks. As it is very mountainous, it calls for difficult strokes.

It is worth mentioning the many trees that surround the course, and the water hazards. There are slopes are all along the course and although some of them are very difficult, they make the game more attractive and interesting.

The course is not too long and has wonderful views. Accuracy is required.

The La Finca golf club lies in natural surroundings of great beauty and with fantastic views. Its facilities are open to those people who want to play golf in the heart of nature while being able to enjoy the beaches, sailing clubs and a host of other facilities and services just a few minutes away.

It is the newest course in the province of Alicante and while it has been open to the public for some weeks it has not yet been inaugurated officially. La Finca golf course is situated at the foot of Mount Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa, right in the heart of the Segura region.

Designed to host top tournaments, La Finca golf course has the greatest variety of greens of any course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size from very large to very small. In addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event that one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.

Several lakes with running water and reed beds along the course add beauty and difficulty to the game, and have made the course the home of a wide variety of migratory water birds, such as ducks and egrets, while the interior of the course is home to olive and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.
